Your role as pastor has undergone many changes in the last century, but one thing has remained unchanged. Jesus said, “Go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” The disciples in Jesus’ day, upon hearing that commission, could not have envisioned the current, complex western society in which we live. It has a unique set of challenges, deceptions and anxieties. In the midst of this, one thing is certain; Jesus is still calling His Church to bring the message of truth, grace, salvation and transformation to the human soul. It is our prayer, that as a pastor, you will read this small book and consider whether financial discipleship needs to have a higher priority in the life of your people and perhaps your own. We also pray you will recognize that while discipleship is appreciated by most believers, financial discipleship is not. D E A R P A S T O R , Unmasking_Mammon_book_4.5.indd 5 2018-07-11 7:41 AM
